EVN Support Scientist's Documentation

This repository contains the documentation from the Support Scientists standard procedures, covering the post-processing of EVN experiments or the running of Network Monitoring Experiments (NMEs).

EVN Post-Processing Guide

Guide that summarizes the steps to be performed on the data of an EVN experiment after correlation upon distribution. This is thus a guide for all steps that an EVN Support Scientist performs on the data when receiving a Yellow Folder.

Guide for post-processing EVN experiments (evn-post-processing.pdf).

Also, includes the check list file which enumerates all steps to conduct for a given experiment and is used to keep track of what has been done for each one (to be stored physically within each Yellow Folder):

Check-list for a given experiment (checklis.pdf).

In the case of post-processing NMEs (see below), the Support Scientist would need to fill an NME Report. The Python script create_nme_report_template.py helps to this by directly creating a LaTeX file with the required template. Run the script with the -h option to see the required input parameters. The generated PDF would need to be uploaded to the JIVE Wiki together with all previous NME Reports.

NME Guide

Guide to conduct a Network Monitoring Experiment (NME).

Guide for NMEs (NME-guide.pdf).
